Hi, got this SW Motech seat bag after seeing one on another forum, fits well on the four existing mounting points,Ā Ā 26 litre expanding to 35 I think.Ā
by the way Iā€™m in Shepshed if you want to have a look.

We've just got our Tenere in the shop, so slung a set of Enduristan Blizzards on it.

Ā

These are the Large (total 24Ltr), but the XLarge (total 34Ltr) still have no clearance issue with the exhaust:

If you're riding offroad, you don't carry the same stuff as you would on a pure road trip, right? Thatā€™s why Enduristan chose a modular approach for the Blizzard Saddle Bags.

34 litres each bag or 34 litres together?

What is it you're tryimg to do? Fasten luggage to the bike?Ā

Yes.. It looks like you can fit the hoops of the rok straps over those 4 bolts? I've bought mine second hand and it has the oem givi luggage rack fitted so those 4 extended bolt things aren't fitted, but I may remove the rack as it looks heavy..Ā

Yes, you're right. I used 4 rokstraps to tie my 40 litre rollbag & tent down with directly onto the 4 bolts, did some of the TET with it (quite rough section) like that & secure as anything. No real need for rack, panniers etc. I also have quite a big tankbag - job done! Hope that helps.Ā

Great, that's good to hear.. I have all sorts of panniers knocking about as well as a 52l givi top box that'll work well with the oem rack, and I need a large carrying capacity for my job, but I'd rather just slung a big 100l roll top bag on the rear seat and maybe get some lomo crash bar bags.. I'd use a giant loop great basin for touring/camping.Ā

Currently have the Adventure pack fitted as that what it came with and some pannier protectors fitted, will use the original frames and fit some magadan soft panniers as extremely good and very strong. About Ā£450 all in.Ā

Ive attached some pics of the Magadans on my GS

Magadans fitted. I could get all my camping gear in with out loading it on the seat creating up top weight, definitely have a another set, they are soft canvas so very easy to roll the top with pockets front and rear for cooking fuel and water bottles.Ā

Hi all,

Ā

I have ordered a set of Bagtecs RB25Ā  amazing how cheap they are. For these soft bags I have crafted a rear rack to support the bags and also give space for other stuff.

Ā

The rack is not finished yet. Needs some kind of cross bar and a Ā support plateĀ  or grill at the rear end. AndĀ  a black finish of course.

Hey Matth,

Ā

The bags I have ordered are 29 cm long so short enough not to touch the muffler I assume.

The Kriega solution.

@Explorer, if you don't mind sharing are those the Kriega OS-18 bags? If yes, how is the clearance to the exhaust? And how much does your rack help with theĀ clearance?

Ā

I'm considering the OS-Base system with 2 x 18 litre bags but don't have a feel for exhaust clearance.

Ā

Other than the Enduristan Blizzard XLs (34 litres with about 2kg weight), the OS-Base withĀ 2 x OS-18 bags seems to giveĀ the best return in terms of storage litres/kg (36 litres with about 2.7kg for the bags and base). But, theĀ big advantage of the Kriega system for me is flexibility in that you can switch out the OS-18s for OS-6 bags when you don't need the extra capacity.

OS-Base with OS-18 on the picture. No conflict with the exhaust according to my trial. You attache it towards the front and it sits on the plastic.

Best luggage rack I've seen by far I think.. Once it is painted.. Could be the lightest option as well.Ā

Not see anyone else with this setup so wanted to share. Using the Adventure spec rack with Lomo bags. I wanted something streamlined and versatile without breaking the bank and the ability to upgrade to a more rugged bag setup down the line (mosko moto/enduristan etc). Took me a while to get it stable enough to where I was happy, used rokstraps through the rack and passenger footpegs. Fine for roads and gravel but may bounce outwards from the bottom (fourth picture) more than I'd like on bumpy offroad.

Ā

Anyone aware of similar straps without the flex of the elastic?

Ā

With these and a duffel across the back i think im good for most trips but, im considering adding the adventure spec top luggage rack further down the line

Ā

Considering putting together a video series on all the changes ive made to bike if that would be of interest.

Ā

Happy riding!
