Hi, I mounted a fairly cheap three-button wired controller to the left-hand side of the handlebar with two main functions: 1. Being able to zoom in & out my Android navigation 2. Relocated the trip computer switch which is by default located in the most useless location on the bike, next to the throttle. Here's a quick video how it works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6qDM_CdR7k Here is a quick DIY with parts, estimated total cost for the whole thing is around 40EUR. Disclaimer: I have to give all the credits to the following two posts that have the above features implemented but separatel…

I’d like to add a double usb to my T7 (UK) maybe with a battery state led just a few questions if I wire it direct to the battery presume it stays hot inc the led display so possibly causing drain my other option is to one of the 2 pin spare plugs (presume these can be bought from eBay) on the lhs of the bike is this correct ? has anyone discovered one that ‘pops in’ rather than a full front end tear down (kind of freaks me out on a new bike) i prefer the style of cap on the original 12v socket as it covers the whole unit- what the members views on this? My bike is not garaged but I have a very good cover thanks all

Hi, I have just purchased a set of LED lights that I want to install on my T7. The wiring loom that comes with the lights has the setup shown in the diagram below: Now, because I do not want to run any cables up to my battery, I will cut the terminals that run up to the battery at the point indicated by the red line I have drawn and connect these to the dedicated 3-pin switched aux connector under the side panel of the bike. My question however is what should I do with the two cables (shown in the diagram inside blue area) that were originally intended for getting an on-off switch signal from the ignition since this will now be r…

Just bought a WR and it seems, well at least to me there isn't any spare wiring for auxiliary extras, I should say that I can find. Had the rhs panel off and there isn't any spare feed. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find it please ? TIA

Hi guys, can you just drop one in? They save 2kg. I heard that Lithium Batteries have a different charging rate and max voltage and are NOT interchangeable with Lead Acid unless the battery has its own built-in charge controller. One Australian on the " Yamaha T7 Tenere 700 World Raid - Global Group" called me silly for asking this question, but AFAIK the bike (eg KTM) has to be designed for the Lithium Battery. It is not so simple as to drop the battery in, is it?? Or am i indeed being silly? Don't want my New Best Friend catching fire like a Dreamliner.... Peter

So I have been wanting some better lighting for night riding, I have a Baja designs squadron pro laying around I was thinking of making a bracket that welds onto the camel adv anit bobble kit to hold the squadron. I would have to cut a hole in the windscreen which I don’t want to do. What are some of the lighting set ups that you guys have done with just a single pod light?

I've installed a set of Non-LED OEM front turn signals on my Tenere. The big change is that the original signals on my bike were 3-wire with the running lights, and now I've installed a 2-wire setup which does not have the running lights. When I installed the rear signals all was good - normal signal flash pattern. Now connecting the front signals and leaving off the running light connection, the indicators have a fast flashing pattern. Funny thing is the emergency has a normal flash pattern. I think the problem is that the running light wire is not connected to anything. However I'm not an electrical person so I would appreciate any guidance here... …

I got a premade kit from Amazon. It's fused with a relay. I'm assuming there are no issues wiring the battery connection side to the spare power wire I have on the right side aux connector? I have my GPS wired to it but the 2nd power wire is open. I was going to use that as keyed power for the lights and either ground it to the bike or tap into the ground wire in the aux connector. I've read a few horror stories about fried ecu's on this bike from lights😬

So while installing my new Acerbis tank today, I decided to replace my spark plugs, and do the wiring 'thing' so I can get at my coils and plugs without disassembling the bike. In doing so, I disconnected all of the harness plugs on the right side of the frame under the tank in order to remove the wiring support tray that's in the way of accessing the plugs. Anyway, upon separating all of the connectors, I discovered that all we either filthy dirty, or corroded, or both . Any I live in the middle of the prairies where moisture is cherished, but NOT common. So, after a thorough cleaning, a liberal amount of dielectric grease, all is back together for what shoul…

I've been searching for the 2 pin on the right side of my bike for GPS connection. The aux 3 pin is obvious but the 2 pin must be buried. I do however have this connector just above the turn signal. It has no 12v when the ignition is switched on. Any ideas what it is or where the right side 2 pin is hiding on US spec bikes?

Hello, I’m told that I can shed a few pounds by switching to an Antigravity Battery. I went to the website and punched in a 2022 Tenere. The answer was pretty broad. can someone tell me which one is the right one? I hope it’s not a complicated thing. Thanj you.

The pix below is from someone else's query on the same topic. I see a lot of general info help like search ebay or oops this one didn't work. I see 3 pin triangle connectors but no square 2 pin. Requesting that someone send me the link to the specific part to purchase that they know fits into this connector. Thanks all.

Hi all - New to this site and thankful to have it as a resource. Recently bought a '22 T7 WR and looking to do the simplest of tasks... fit my Garmin GPS. There's only one auxiliary lead I'm aware of, and it was hard to find, but now I'm not sure where to get a hold of the right three-pronged, triangular male head for it (see picture). I'm attaching a standard Garmin GPS wiring setup, with raw-end positive and negative leads. Otherwise fully set up with solder kit, etc. - I just need to find this triangular male head. Any links or recs are very appreciated! BR

My Cyclops Multifunction 3.0 LED Turn Signals recently arrived & imho the redesign & added features/functionality of the 3.0 version were worth waiting for, in particular, the rear running/brake light option & increased output. To see video & my full review of the Cyclops signals as well as review of the 12 0'Clock Lab LED Turn Signals visit my blog here To quote their website: We have heard you on wanting a brighter setup and have stepped it up with the 3.0 version, all new bodies, lenses Emitters and stems. We are also adding a running and brake light function. Now easily turn your blinkers into additional running lights and or brake lights(…

So when I got my bike (2021 Tenere 700) I noticed the horn was pitiful! So I swapped it out with sound a sound bomb mini. Used it over the past year with no issues. Recently I installed the Cyclops 3.0 blinkers, when doing all my tests I noticed something weird, when I hit my horn it activate the front blinkers... but not the rear. Both of the front look like they are go through there start up sequence. I emailed Cyclops to see if they had any ideas, they say their kit shouldn't tie into the horn in anyway, and that something must be crossed... I'm thinking maybe a bad ground somewhere but I'm not sure where to even start. Anyone have any ideas or seem so…

…from someone smarter than me. I installed an Oxford grip heater. However, the grips are for gorillas and I’m used to dirtbike size grips. So I removed the oxford grips and installed Tusk heater elements. Used the same type of connectors to wire them up to the oxford controller. It works! However, they now stay on the entire time. It is direct wired to the battery and I was going to rely on the controller for on/off. While the controller says it’s off, it’s certainly still on. The controller is also warm. The Tusk kit came with a huge resistor that I left out. Presumably I need to put this inline the battery and controller? Currently…

Anyone installed the Yamaha USB Accessory power supply on the port with the rubber cover made for it on the right side? How am I supposed to string the cable and female connector out the bottom of the hole made for the USB power supply without have to cut out plastic the drop the cable and connector through? Also what secures the port in the hole made for it without it just bouncing around?

G’day all. First time poster here from NZ. Have a ‘21 T7 that I’ve fitted a high mount Mivv exhaust to which has finally melted the right rear indicator as I was expecting. I’ve got a full set of LED ones to fit but will obviously need to remount them somewhere. I’ve seen them mounted to the rear plastic moulding under the rear fairing which looks tidy. Any pros/cons around that or tips from people that have done that? Otherwise I’ll make a couple of stand off brackets to attach to my rear luggage carrier mounting bolts but there’ll be a couple of inches of wiring exposed. Cheers.

Just listening to Adventure Rider Radio, and a guest said the T7 has a Canbus?! I always thought it didn't but also according to another thread here, it does. True? 1. I bought this bike for ultimate simplicity, as I ride in third world countries every winter. 2. I have a bucket full of lighting farkles and heated grips. The Cyclops lighting was advertised for the T7, but my Admore and Skene lighting and Oxford grips weren't, but everything is working.

I’ve had a look through the posts and can’t see anything… I stopped to fill up with fuel in my way home tonight and on knocking the bike into neutral didn’t get the green light in the dash, didn’t think much about it until I went to move off and still no light… and wouldn’t turn over : ( wiggled the wires behind the clutch lever and got the light in momentarily and it fired up, now it’s gone out again… anyone experienced this? Any thoughts?

Hi I've had a wee bit of a search of all the lighting threads but I'm a bit of an electrical noob... I've been trying to move my Denali D4's over from my Super Ten to the T7 and am having some issues. When I got them, I also bought the harness (with a switch that is livened up once the high beams are turned on) that enabled a pretty quick install on the S10. All I had to do was tap the high beam light and the hook everything up and all was good in the world. I've located the high beam wire on the T7 and have hooked everything up but no joy. Power is getting from the high-beam light to the switch but neither of the leds on …
